The transition to Infinite Campus was organized into a two-wave implementation, with LEAs volunteering to participate in either Wave 1 or Wave 2. DDOE addressed over 100 LEA-submitted questions spanning implementation topics such as account management, data migration, system integrations, training and support, reporting, and logistical planning. Key concerns—including historical data migration, third-party system integration, training schedules, and support. Project success for the Infinite Campus project has been defined around three critical pillars: data, training, and support. These pillars provide a framework to drive change management and system adoption, foster continuous improvement and strengthen collaboration amongst LEAs. By focusing on these pillars, DDOE ensures Infinite Campus delivers sustainable value to educators, administrators, and students in Delaware.
Wave 1 Implementation
In July 2024, Wave 1 LEAs successfully transitioned to Infinite Campus, officially launching the use of the system for school year 2025. This cohort included 19 LEAs, including one vocational-technical district, one service school, four residential districts, twelve established charter schools, and one newly opened charter school. Wave 1 LEAs faced a condensed timeline, necessitated by the development work required to ensure interoperability. This effort involved collaboration between DDOE, Infinite Campus, and third-party vendors to address critical data changes and integration needs. Despite these challenges, the transition marked a significant milestone in modernizing the state’s student information system, marking the implementation of data governance and data standards.
Wave 2 Implementation
Wave 2 LEAs are supported by a dedicated Infinite Campus project team, including a business consultant, data conversion analyst, project manager, and training specialist. LEAs have a comprehensive project plan including a Scope of Work, Data Migration Plan, secure Data Validation Tool (DVT), and training resources via a flipped classroom model. The Infinite Campus Data Migration Plan provides all the data elements transferring from eSchoolPLUS to Infinite Campus and ensures the transfer of up to 20 years of historical data. This includes student demographics, enrollments, transcripts, attendance, state program data, health data, and behavior.
