Award Programs
Each year the Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) has the opportunity to lead or participate in programs that recognize the state’s outstanding public school students and staff. DDOE is proud of the strong programs our public schools offer and excited for the ways we can continue to honor the members of this community.
Programs honoring Delaware school staff:
Each year the program honors a Delaware teacher who exemplifies fine teaching in the state. This program is administered by the DDOE.
Each year the program recognizes outstanding service by school employees who provide direct or indirect services to students and their families. This program is administered by the DDOE.
This program recognizes outstanding service by school employees who are health care practitioners or human service providers who improve mental health. This program is administered by the DDOE.
Awarded by the White House each year, this is the highest recognition a K-12 mathematics or science teacher can receive for outstanding teaching in the United States.
Programs honoring Delaware public schools:
This award recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students achieve very high learning standards or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap.
This award recognizes superior, federally funded school programs.
Recognizes school programs in three areas: Exceptional student performance, closing the achievement gap, and excellence in serving special populations. Includes School of Continued Excellence award.
This award recognizes school counseling programs that are comprehensive, data-informed and designed to serve all students.
Programs honoring Delaware students:
Delaware’s Geospatial Education community is partnering with Esri to challenge all high school and middle school students (whether onsite, online, or hybrid) to create and share WebApp projects that capture some aspect of life in Delaware.
