Finance for Public Education

The Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) provides financial supports to internal operational teams and the state’s public school districts and charter schools.

Education Budget and Financial Transparency

The annual education budget includes fiscal year bill information, school report cards, as well as assessment, equalization, usage, tax rate table, and additional reports. Financial transparency informs on how government and tax revenues are spent on Education, including responsibility training and the Citizens Budget Oversight Committee.

Contracts and Procurement

The bid solicitation directory is DDOE’s central repository for open Request for Information (RFI), Request for Quote (RFQ), Invitation to Bid (ITB), and/or a Request for Proposal (RFP). Additional procurement sites include the State of Delaware Bid Solicitation Directory and the State of Delaware eMarketplace Portal.

Facilities and Operations

The Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) provides districts and charter schools with support and guidance to build, maintain, and operate public school facilities throughout the state. This work includes school construction, contracts and procurement.

Children Services Cost Recovery Project (CSCRP)

The CSCRP collects the federal share of the cost of providing school-based health care to Medicaid eligible students under the age of 21 years. Recovering the costs of caring for children with specific medical needs is a revenue source that financially benefits the State of Delaware, districts, and charter schools.

Federal Funds

Delaware’s public schools receive federal funding, which is crucial for sustaining educational programs and infrastructure. These funds support initiatives ranging from special education services to technology integration in classrooms, ensuring equitable opportunities for all students. Additionally, federal allocations assist in maintaining adequate staffing levels and enhancing professional development opportunities for educators.
