Farm to School

The Delaware Farm to School Program connects students with fresh, healthy, local food while supporting Delaware farmers and food producers. Through local food purchasing, hands-on education, and community engagement, students learn where their food comes from and how to make informed food choices while schools help grow the local economy.

The Delaware Farm to School Committee (a subset of the Delaware Council on Farm and Food Policy) works to advance farm to school strategies and activities across the state. The committee comprises members from various sectors and includes state agencies, community partners, farmers, and child nutrition supervisors.  In 2024, the Committee underwent a new strategic plan to guide and steer activities for the next 5 years.
