School buses drive in a parking lot, navigating large parking spaces and road cones.

The Delaware School Bus Roadeo is an annual safety skills competition for Delaware school bus contractors. Drivers complete an application process to be selected. Once accepted, drivers compete in a written test, pre-trip inspection, and road course to demonstrate their skills.

There Roadeo includes two divisions: one for district employees and one for contractor employees. Winning contestants from each division are then eligible to compete in the National School Transportation Association safety competition.

No prior experience needed and each scoring area will have team captains to train you.

  • School transportation experience preferred (office staff, bus driver, bus aides, etc.), others welcome
