The Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) provides leadership development opportunities to public school educators as a way to promote both school and student success. Strong leadership helps ensure that schools can adapt to evolving challenges, implement evidence-based practices, and foster supportive environments. Through ongoing professional development opportunities, Delaware educators become empowered to create a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration across schools for educators and students to thrive.
Administrative Induction
A comprehensive induction program required for all first-time administrators and also administrators who are new to Delaware. Includes a northern cohort and a southern cohort; meets in-person and virtually. Participants who complete the program will satisfy DE Regulation 1503 induction requirements.

A northern cohort and a southern cohort will meet in-person & virtually throughout the year. All in-person sessions will be held at Wilmington University New Castle (Northern location) and Wilmington University in Dover (Southern location).
Session Information
Sessions will be led by current administrators and national speakers TJ Vari and Joseph Jones, who will guide leaders in using theoretical concepts and practical strategies aligned to PSEL & Admins’ Goals. A national author will kick off each session through FocusEd. Participants will be part of a supportive cohort with opportunities to network with other new leaders.

For in-person sessions, participants may select the cohort that is closer to work or home. Alternate as needed.

Offers the Superintendent Study Council to support capacity-building for Delaware’s 19 district superintendents as well as the Assistant Principal Academy to strengthen the principal pipeline in Delaware.
