The Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) oversees educator evaluations that engage school staff in ongoing, reflective discussions about what works best in their classrooms and for their students.

Educator evaluations are conducted by credentialed administrators. Evaluations are designed to provide feedback focused on goal-setting and continuous improvement so that educators receive the support they need and deserve as professionals.

Teacher Evaluation

The Delaware Teacher Growth and Support System (DTGSS) is the state’s teacher evaluation system. DTGSS uses ongoing observation, feedback, and support to drive teacher growth. This system was designed with significant input and feedback from Delaware teachers, specialists, and administrators.

Administrator Evaluation

DPAS II for Administrators is the state’s evaluation system for district and charter school leaders. DPAS II assists school administrators in identifying areas of opportunity and growth, focusing on continuous improvement of student outcomes, and ensuring the effectiveness of every educator in school buildings and classrooms.

Specialist Evaluation

DPAS II for Specialists is Delaware’s statewide evaluation system for school counselors, library media specialists, and educators other than teachers and administrators who hold a valid Delaware teaching license or professional status certificate and are employed in a Delaware public school. As a statewide system, DPAS II establishes consistent educator and student performance expectations and outcomes.
