Mental Health Literacy Annual Report

The mental health education annual report provides data on mental health education programs used in Delaware districts and charter schools as required in Delaware Code, Title 14 §4116A. Mental health education K-12 focuses on supporting the Delaware competencies and sub-competencies for Mental Health Literacy.

The requirement for mental health education began on August 3, 2022, with the signing of House Bill 301 of the 151st General Assembly. The first year of implementation was during the 2024-2025 school year.

For the purposes of this report, districts and charter schools submit to the Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) the evidence-based or evidence-informed educational program(s) they plan to implement during the school year, the person responsible for overseeing the requirement, and information about the roll out process. To collect this information, DDOE provided districts and charters with a report template to be completed annually each November.
