Through a blend of workshops and resources, we cultivate a culture where teachers become agents of change, seeking new approaches to education. Service Overview
The Teacher Leader In Residence (TLIR) will provide fully customizable professional learning (PL) experiences. The TLIR will meet teachers where they are in their implementation journey to identify and address specific areas of need and work collaboratively with teachers to develop solutions to ensure long-term implementation success.

For Open Up High School Math, the authors of the curriculum, Mathematics Vision Project deliver professional learning for your teachers and leaders for the High School Math curriculum. Their deep knowledge will help guide your teachers through a successful implementation.
Building District Capacity
Open Up Resources addresses the needs of school-level and district-level leaders in the implementation of the curriculum. These structures may be in virtual or on-site formats and include initial training, coaching, and Learning Walk Support. Here are some learning objectives for leadership support:
Unpack the research-based design of the curriculum, as well as the critical shifts in pedagogy
Discuss common implementation challenges & ways to support teachers
Develop and use a district-aligned EL Education K-8 Language Arts learning walk tool to formatively assess the implementation of the curriculum.
Identify trends across classrooms, teacher strengths, and high-impact next steps for implementation
Addressing Equity
OUR’s Professional Learning (PL) promotes language development and equity in education, ensuring all students access a curriculum that values their voices.
It incorporates the Science of Reading, emphasizing phonemic awareness, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Instruction is differentiated to honor diverse backgrounds and prior knowledge.
An asset-based approach celebrates the strengths students bring.
Evidence-based strategies like Language Dives and Conversation Cues scaffold learning.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) ensures multiple means of engagement, representation, and expression.
Lessons include “Supporting Multilingual Learners” and “Meeting Students’ Needs.”
Instruction is guided by WIDA ELD Standards, fostering meaningful, inclusive, and accessible learning for every student.
