Code, Chapter 41, Subchapter II are required to complete 9 hours (10 hours for certain administrators, school counselors, and school nurses as listed below) of approved non-academic training over a three-year period. Delaware Student Misconduct Policy Modules PDMS: NAMC-TD 24185 1 Required for all school administrators, school nurses, or school counselors serving 1 or more of the grades in grades 7 through 12.

In addition to the above trainings, physical restraint procedures training is required for all school personnel prior to physical restraint. Such personnel shall receive annual training in the use of crisis prevention and intervention techniques consistent with nationally-recognized training programs, which must address prevention techniques, de-escalation techniques, and positive behavioral intervention strategies and supports and are designed to meet the needs of such personnel consistent with their duties and the potential need for emergency safety interventions

Any public school personnel responsible for reporting the physical restraint of a student must complete training on the reporting process at least once every 3 years and during any year in which reporting procedures were changed from the previous year.

Districts and charters may submit requests for alternative training using the forms below.

Please note: Registration for approved training alternatives is still managed in PDMS. Courses can be offered online in Schoology or in person.
