The Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) provides leadership, fiscal, regulatory and technical assistance for the public school districts and charter schools in the State of Delaware.

The DDOE helps to enforce the school transportation regulations for 19 school districts and 25 charter schools that transport 130,000 pupils, on 1,800 school buses each day. Local school districts operate approximately 1/3 of all buses and private school bus contractors provide the other 2/3.
