Directions
From North of Dover, DE (using Rt. 1):
Follow Route 1 South to Dover (toll road) for approximately 45 minutes. As you get closer to Dover, you will pass exits for Smyrna and the North Dover Business District/Scarborough Road. Continue on SR1 through the $1 toll booth and take the next exit, Exit 98. At the bottom of the exit, turn right. Proceed straight until you reach a traffic light. Turn left onto Route 13 South. Turn right at the next traffic light (just before T.G.I. Friday’s) onto Loockerman Street.
After turning right onto Loockerman Street, proceed straight. Turn left at the first stop light (Legislative Avenue) and immediately turn right into a parking lot. This is the Townsend Building parking lot. The Townsend Building is directly in front of you.
From South of Dover, DE (using Rt. 13):
Take Rt. 13 North through Harrington, Felton, and Camden. After the Camden traffic light, continue north through about seven traffic lights. (Do not take the Rt. 1 North exit).
In Dover, look for a Wawa on the left side of the highway. Turn left at the next light where T.G.I. Friday’s is (Loockerman Street).
After turning left onto Loockerman Street, proceed straight. Turn left at the first stop light (Legislative Avenue) and immediately turn right into a parking lot. This is the Townsend Building parking lot. The Townsend Building is directly in front of you.
From South of Dover, DE (using Rt. 113):
Take Rt. 113 North. Stay to the right past the Dover Air Force Base. (Do not go on Route 1 North). Travel through five traffic lights. Just after Routes 13 and 113 merge, get into the far left lane. Turn left at the light where T.G.I. Friday’s is (Loockerman Street).
After turning left onto Loockerman Street, proceed straight. Turn left at the first stop light (Legislative Avenue) and immediately turn right into a parking lot. This is the Townsend Building parking lot. The Townsend Building is directly in front of you.
Parking: If you are unable to find a spot in the parking lot or on the streets surrounding the building, you might try the Dover Post Office parking lot across the street from the Townsend Building (Loockerman Street). In that lot, please be sure to park in the 2-hour parking area only – not the area for permits only. For parking beyond 2 hours, you might try the Archives Building parking lot. Access that parking lot by driving straight across Legislative Avenue from the DOE parking lot.
