Delaware Military Academy Announced as 2022 Vaping Education Viewing Contest Winner

(Dover, DE) June 10, 2022 –  The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) in partnership with the American Lung Association through the Delaware Division of Public Health’s Tobacco Prevention Community Contract, conducted a vaping education viewing contest in May which was meant to educate Delaware students about the health dangers of e-cigarette and vaping usage.  In order to participate in the contest, students viewed the “Understanding Vaping and E-Cigarettes” video through the National Federation of High Schools Learn curriculum course.  Participants watched the video and completed the course to register a video “view” for their school.

DIAA Spring Championships Updates – June 6, 2022

Dover, DE (June 6, 2022) – Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) spring sport championship updates below.

Girls Soccer:

D1:

Padua defeated Middletown on penalty kicks to win their 4th straight girls soccer title; 3-3 3-2PKs. This is Padua’s 12th title in school history since 2006.

1 Caravel def. #3 Sussex Central 8-7 to win back to back softball state titles in a rematch of the 2021 title game.

D2:

St. Mark’s defeated Caravel Academy 2-1 to capture their first girls soccer title since 2008.

Boys Lacrosse:

Pairings Set for the 2022 DIAA Golf Championship

Dover, DE (May 25, 2022) The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) Golf committee met yesterday and selected the 96 player tournament field for the 2022 DIAA Golf Championship.  The tournament is set to tee-off next Tuesday, May 31 continuing through Wednesday, June 1 at Odessa National Golf Club in Townsend, DE.

2022 DIAA Outdoor Track Championship Results

Dover, DE (May 25, 2022) – The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet was held this past weekend at Dover High School.  In Division 1 girls, Padua Academy won their 8th straight championship, with a score of (211.50).  This is Padua’s 20th overall girls outdoor track state title since 1983.  Salesianum won their 3rd straight Division 1 boys outdoor track championship with a score of (170).  This is Salesianum’s 19th overall boys outdoor track state title since 1971.  In Division 2, St. Mark’s and Tatnall were named girls co-champions with a score of (167).  This[…]

DIAA Spring Championships Updates – May 23, 2022

Dover, DE (May 23, 2022) – Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) spring sport championship action was in full swing this past weekend. The semifinal match ups for the Softball and Girls Lacrosse championships are set for this week. The Girls Soccer Championship opened with Division 2 Round 1 action on Saturday and Division 1 play opens this week. The DIAA Tennis Championship Round 1 matches were played on Saturday and the tournament continues this week. Baseball and Boys Lacrosse tournament fields were selected yesterday and announced as first round games also open this week.
