2025 DIAA Cross Country State Championships

- 1:00 – Division I – Girls
- 1:40 – Division II – Girls
- 2:20 – Division I – Boys
- 3:00 – Division II – Boys
- Note: Awards will follow the last race

Event Details:
- Arrival
- The Park Superintendent has highly recommended that participants arrive early since the park fee booth does tend to back up and cause delays in park entrance. Note: All course walks must be completed prior to 12:45.
- Park Entrance, Vehicle Parking and other key information:
- All School/Team Transportation must follow the parking directions upon entering the park guided by the Officers on duty.
- School buses and marked school vans transporting student-athletes during this sanctioned DIAA event shall be permitted free entry.
- All spectators must pay the state park fee to enter. In-State: $4, Out-of-State: $8
- All pets must be kept on a leash at all times.
- No grills are permitted in or around the main pavilion area.
- No smoking or vaping.
- All spectators must remain behind the roped off area near the woods line.
- Prohibited items and activities include:
- NO confetti, balloons, or glitter because of the threat they pose to wildlife.
- No Banners, flags and signs on the course.
- Footballs, Soccer balls, Frisbees, Etc. are not permitted in the starting, finishing or spectator viewing area of the course.
- A Concession Stand will be available.
- Portable Toilets will be available for this event.
- Medical Tent will be located near the main pavilion. A certified athletic trainer will be on site.
- An Ambulance and a gator will be on site for emergencies.
- Team Check in and Team Areas:
- Teams must check in at the Pavilion to receive their event packet no later than 30 minutes prior to their scheduled race time.
- Team camps must be spaced appropriately.
- A trash bag will be included in your packet. Please police your team area prior to leaving. All State Parks are carry in/carry out parks.
- Teams must supply their own water and/or drinks

- All course walks must be completed prior to 12:45.
- National Federation and D.I.A.A. rules will be in effect
- Scoring will be in accordance with 2024 N.F.H.S. Track/Cross Country Rule Book. Modified scoring will not be used. Teams that finish with fewer than 5 finishers will receive a score of incomplete
- Uniform rules will be enforced. Hats, gloves, and arm warmers are permitted.
- Numbers must be worn on the front of the uniform jersey Do not pin numbers to your shorts. Coaches: Do not allow an athlete to wear another athlete’s number. See the officials at the timer’s area if another number is needed. All changes must be made by 12:45.
- Starting Grid was determined by random drawing.
- Runners must pass all course markers on the correct side. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
- All runners must finish and move through the chute.
- Today’s Referee is George Pepper
- Jury of Appeals if needed will include 3 DIAA Committee Members: Michelle Flanagan, Patrick Castagno, and Lance Skinner.
- Awards
- Team trophies will be awarded to the champion and runner-up team in each race of each division. Each of these teams will also receive seven (7) individual medals.
- Individual medals will be presented to the first fifteen (15) finishers in each race.

- NFHS Rules Clinic: All DIAA Sports Rule Clinics are offered through the NFHSLearn platform. These IN-PERSON rules clinics are mandatory for all head coaches and officials. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certification. Attendance at the in-person rules clinic is expected, with the virtual make-up option reserved only for serious scheduling conflicts.
