Sport Championships
As a member of The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), DIAA regulates the playing rules of, and conducts the tournaments for, fifteen (15) sports. DIAA crowns thirty-seven (37) team champions each school year.
Sports Information
Championship competition is sponsored in multiple sports for girls and boys as well as awarded in (coed) unified sports.
Unified (Coed):
DIAA classifies teams for Division I and Division II in boys and girls cross country, field hockey, boys and girls outdoor track, boys and girls soccer, and wrestling. Football classifies teams in three separate classes – Class 1A, Class 2A, and Class 3A.
