DIAA Introduces New Media Credentialing Policy for Tournament Games
Dover, DE – September 10, 2024 – The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) is excited to implement a new media credentialing policy for the 2024-2025 tournament season. This updated policy is designed to streamline the credentialing process, provide clear guidelines for media access, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and coverage for interscholastic athletics during DIAA state tournament events.
Starting with the upcoming tournament season, media representatives will have the opportunity to apply for credentials through a user-friendly online application system. This process is intended to facilitate faster processing and approval, ensuring that media personnel gain timely access to tournament games. Media members are required to submit their credential requests by specified deadlines to allow for effective planning and resource allocation for state tournaments.
Credentialed media will receive details about designated media areas and any applicable restrictions. This information is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the events and ensuring a seamless experience for all stakeholders involved. All credentialed media personnel are expected to adhere to DIAA policies and regulations, which emphasize respect for players, coaches, and other attendees.
David Baylor, Executive Director of DIAA, remarked, “We value the essential role that media personnel play in supporting our member schools, communities, and student-athletes. We are looking forward to implementing this new media policy as part of our commitment to enhancing the overall experience and professional coverage of our state tournament games. By simplifying the process and establishing clear guidelines, we aim to better collaborate with our media partners and elevate the coverage of high school athletics in Delaware.”
