DIAA Spring Championships Updates – May 31, 2022
Dover, DE (May 31, 2022) – Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) spring sport championship updates below.
Softball:
#1 Caravel def. #3 Sussex Central 8-7 to win back to back softball state titles in a rematch of the 2021 title game.
Girls Lacrosse:
Last Thursday evening #1 Cape Henlopen def. #3 Tatnall, 16-4 to win their 13th consecutive girls lacrosse state title.
Tennis:
Last Wednesday at St. Andrew’s School, Tower Hill (boys) and Wilmington Friends (girls) won state tennis championships. This was Tower Hill boy’s third straight tennis title and Wilmington Friends girls first title.

2nd singles:
Boys – Ben Chen (Charter Wilmington)
Girls – Alexis Montana (Wilm. Friends)
3rd singles:

Girls – Ava Vu (Caesar Rodney)
1st Doubles:
Boys – Matthew Heinle & Demetrios Moutsatsos (Tower Hill)
Girls – Evelyn Parsonage & Caroline Peach (Ursuline)
2nd Doubles:
Boys – Jack Allen & Samuel DeSantis (Tower Hill)
Girls – Zoe Clowney & Georgia Davis (St. Andrew’s)
Girls Soccer:
Girls Soccer sport page – The D1 and D2 semifinals are set for tomorrow. The game locations and match ups can be found on the brackets.
Baseball:
The baseball quarterfinals are today. The game locations and match ups can be found on the brackets.
Boys Lacrosse:
The boys lacrosse semifinals will be a doubleheader tomorrow evening at Abessinio Stadium. Game times are 5:30pm and 7:30pm.
Ticket Information
Ticketing and admission for all 2021-2022 DIAA Championships will be digital through our official ticketing partner, GoFan. No cash tickets will be sold onsite at championship events and all tickets must be purchased through GoFan. DIAA has created a resource page (click here to visit) to assist with answering frequently asked questions and other troubleshooting issues about digital ticketing fans may have. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time.

DIAA is proud to be a recipient of the Delaware Division of Public Health’s Tobacco Prevention Community Contract. Funding for the Contract is provided by the Delaware Health Fund and managed by the American Lung Association in Delaware.
