DIAA Spring Championships Updates – May 23, 2022
Dover, DE (May 23, 2022) – Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) spring sport championship action was in full swing this past weekend. The semifinal match ups for the Softball and Girls Lacrosse championships are set for this week. The Girls Soccer Championship opened with Division 2 Round 1 action on Saturday and Division 1 play opens this week. The DIAA Tennis Championship Round 1 matches were played on Saturday and the tournament continues this week. Baseball and Boys Lacrosse tournament fields were selected yesterday and announced as first round games also open this week.
Softball:
The DIAA Softball Championship semifinals are set for Wednesday, May 25th.
#1 Caravel vs. #13 Laurel – 5:00pm at Caravel Academy
#2 Appoquinimink vs. #3 Sussex Central – 4:00pm at Appoquinimink

Girls Lacrosse:
The Girls Lacrosse Championship semifinals are set for Tuesday, May 24 and will be hosted at Delaware State University at Alumni Stadium for a doubleheader.
5pm: #1 Cape Henlopen vs #4 Tower Hill
7pm: #2 Sussex Academy vs. #3 Tatnall
Fans planning to attend the game should purchase tickets in advance through GoFan (link to purchase) as no tickets will be sold on site. Fans will be permitted only in the home stands. Signs, whistles and horns will not be allowed to be brought into the stadium.
Media with current 2021-2022 issued credentials will be permitted access to only the track in front of the home stands. Media will not be permitted to stand or access the endlines at either end of the field.
Tennis:
Round 1 results from Saturday, 5/21 are posted on the DIAA tennis sport page. Rounds 2 and 3 are being played today. All site locations and start times for the championship are listed on the brackets.

The DIAA Baseball and Boys Lacrosse committees met yesterday and selected the championship tournament fields. The brackets and tournament schedules can be found below on each respective sport page.
Ticket Information
Ticketing and admission for all 2021-2022 DIAA Championships will be digital through our official ticketing partner, GoFan. No cash tickets will be sold onsite at championship events and all tickets must be purchased through GoFan. DIAA has created a resource page (click here to visit) to assist with answering frequently asked questions and other troubleshooting issues about digital ticketing fans may have. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time.
