2022 DIAA Boys Basketball Bracket – Update
Dover, DE (February 28, 2022) – The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) boys basketball committee met last Friday to seed the 2022 boys basketball tournament. The committee verified all out-of-state opponent records prior to the meeting. After releasing the boys basketball bracket, DIAA received an official appeal by the deadline. DIAA received corrected out–of-state opponent record information through the verification for the appeal. The updated record impacted the index points and created a 3-way tie between Delcastle, Polytech, and Mt. Pleasant for the 24th and final seed in the tournament – the index was 1.8 for each team. The first requirement for the tie-breaker scenario is head-to-head competition, but this was not used because all teams did not play each other. The second tie-breaking procedure was used: win-loss percentage against common opponents. All three tied teams played Hodgson. Delcastle and Mt. Pleasant both lost to Hodgson. Polytech beat Hodgson. With Polytech’s win against Hodgson, they will receive the 24th seed in the 2022 DIAA Boys Basketball tournament. The updated bracket can be found here. #24 Polytech will play against Dover tomorrow, at Dover High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00pm.
