DIAA 2021 Volleyball Finals Set in Rematch of 2020

DIAA Volleyball Finals Set for Monday, November 15, 2021

Dover, DE (November 12, 2021) – In last night’s volleyball semifinals, Saint Mark’s and Padua Academy secured their spots in the DIAA volleyball finals on Monday night in what is a rematch of the 2020 and 2019 title game.  Saint Mark’s is currently undefeated on the season and will seek a back to back championship against familiar foe Padua Academy.  Padua won their last state championship in 2019.  

Volleyball Semifinals – Results

#1 Saint Mark’s def #5 Newark Charter (25-14, 25-15, 25-22).

#2 Padua def #6 Wilmington Friends (25-18, 25-22, 25-17). 

This is Wilmington Friend’s third straight appearance in the consolation game battling for 3rd place.  In 2020, they were defeated by Delaware Military Academy and in 2019, the Quakers beating Ursuline Academy to finish 3rd.

Tickets are on sale now for $8.00 each and can be purchased using this link through University of Delaware’s ticket provider. 

  • Fans planning on attending the finals need to be aware of the entry requirement for spectators at the Bob Carpenter Center.
  • Spectators must provide proof of vaccination or negative PCR test within 72 hours of the event (TODAY). 
  • Fans will also have to complete the COVID Survey Check to enter the building http://covidcheck.udel.edu/ (click – I am a Visitor).
  • Masks are required at all times indoors.
  • The University of Delaware’s COVID-19 event attendee protocols in entirety can be found here.
  • Note: Fans under 12 will still need to do the two question survey, but will NOT have to have the vaccine or display a negative testing.**
Marketing Special Promotions is the official provider of DIAA championship apparel and will be on site Monday evening. 

DIAA is proud to be a recipient of the Delaware Division of Public Health’s Tobacco Prevention Community Contract. Funding for the Contract is provided by the Delaware Health Fund and managed by the American Lung Association in Delaware.
