DIAA 2021 Volleyball Championship Bracket Released

Dover, DE (October 31, 2021) – The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) Volleyball Committee met today and selected the field of 24 teams for the 2021 DIAA Volleyball Championship.

The 11 time and reigning DIAA Volleyball State Champion Saint Mark’s earned the #1 seed while Padua Academy, Red Lion Christian Academy, and Charter School of Wilmington earned the #2, #3 and #4 seeds respectively. The DIAA volleyball championship first round be played over two nights on Wednesday, November 3rd and Thursday, November 4th. The second round will also be played over two nights on November 5th and November 6th. First and second round games will be hosted by the higher seeded team and all games will start at 6:30pm. The quarterfinals will be hosted by St. Elizabeth High School and Saint Mark’s High School. Saint Mark’s High School will also host the semifinals.

In October, the DIAA Board approved the exploration of alternative fall championship sites due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.  The DIAA Volleyball Championship will be on Monday, November 15th and the location will be announced in the ensuing days.

The 24 team tournament field is comprised of six qualifying conference champions and eighteen at-large teams.

Livestreaming

NFHSNetwork is the official partner of DIAA State Championships and full list of games that will be livestreamed will be released soon. Broadcast fees apply except for livestreams by school-owned websites or school controlled webpages.

Ticket Information

Ticketing and admission for all 2021-2022 DIAA Championships will be digital through our official ticketing partner, GoFan. Tickets for the first round games and additional information will be released tomorrow.

Media

Media is permitted at events. We ask that media contact member schools for entry and placement of media depending on the layout of the facility, including how many people are permitted in the press box due to social distancing regulations. Only media with a valid and approved DIAA 2021-2022 credential will be permitted entry. Media should contact DIAA in advance to request live broadcast at any event. DIAA will notify member schools when requests have been approved. For state tournaments, broadcast request media should contact the Executive Director and for media credential requests, media shall apply for credentials through the DIAA media page.

DIAA to be a recipient of the Delaware Division of Public Health’s Tobacco Prevention Community Contract. Funding for the Contract is provided by the Delaware Health Fund and managed by the American Lung Association in Delaware.
