DIAA Soccer Committee Reveals 2022 Tournament Field
(Dover, DE) November 4, 2022 – The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) and the Soccer Committee met Friday morning and ranked both the Division One and Division Two fields for the 2022 DIAA Soccer Championships.
In Division One, Salesianum earned the #1 overall seed while Delcastle, the Charter School of Wilmington, and Cape Henlopen earned #2, #3, and #4 seeds, respectively. The quarterfinals will take place over the course of two days – Thursday, November 10 and Friday, November 11. The Division One semifinals will take place at Dover High School on Wednesday, November 16 as part of a doubleheader. The Division One final will begin at 12:00PM on Saturday, November 19 at Dover High School and part of a Division One and Two doubleheader. All game sites and start times will be noted on the official bracket.
The Division One tournament field is comprised of two qualifying champions and six at-large teams.
Conference Champions:
Blue Hen Flight-A: Delcastle (#2 overall seed)
Henlopen North: Cape Henlopen (#4 overall seed)
At-Large Teams:
#1 overall seed: Salesianum
#3 overall seed: Charter School of Wilmington
#5 overall seed: Appoquinimink
#6 overall seed: Caesar Rodney
#7 overall seed: Sussex Central
#8 overall seed: St. Georges
In Division Two, Caravel earned the #1 overall seed while Indian River, Saint Mark’s, and Wilmington Friends earned #2, #3, and #4 seeds, respectively. Division Two’s first round will be played over the course of two days – Tuesday, November 8 and Wednesday, November 9. Quarterfinal play will occur on Saturday, November 12 and the Division Two semifinals will be held on Wednesday, November 16 at Caesar Rodney High School. The Division Two final will kick off at 3:00PM at Dover High School, at the conclusion of the Division One final. All game sites and start times will be noted on the official bracket.
