DIAA Volleyball Committee Releases 2022 Tournament Field

(Dover, DE) October 30, 2022 – The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) and the Volleyball Committee met Sunday morning and ranked the field of 24 teams for the 2022 DIAA Volleyball Championships.

Smyrna earned the #1 seed while Delmarva Christian, St. Mark’s, and Archmere earned #2, #3, and #4 seeds respectively. Round One will take place over the course of two days – Wednesday, November 2 and Thursday, November 3. Round Two will also be played over the course of two days – Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5. The higher seeded team will host all games in both the first and second round of competition. All matches will begin at 6:30PM.

St. Mark’s and St. Elizabeth will host Quarterfinal double-headers on Tuesday, November 8, while a Semifinal double-header will be held at St. Mark’s on Thursday, November 10. Times for both Quarterfinal and Semifinal matches are to be determined.

The 2022 DIAA State Championship and third place match will be held at the University of Delaware’s Bob Carpenter Center on Monday, November 14. All site locations and times are noted on the tournament bracket.

The tournament field is comprised of six qualifying champions and eighteen at-large teams.
