2022 DIAA Basketball State Championship Brackets Announced

Dover, DE (February 26, 2022) – The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) girls, boys, and unified basketball championship brackets were released yesterday.  The 2022 boys and girls basketball championship format returns to a 24 team tournament field, after the tournament format in 2021 was open to all teams.
The DIAA Basketball Championships will be hosted by the higher seeded team through the quarterfinals. The Boys and Girls semifinals and finals will return to the University of Delaware for the first time since 2019. The 2020 championship was not played due to the COVID-19 health pandemic and the 2021 basketball championships were hosted at Dover High School.  DIAA has received an official appeal for the boys basketball bracket.  An out of state school’s record is currently under review and a decision will be made on Monday.

Ticket Information

Tickets for girls and boys first round games will go on sale Monday, February 28, at 7:00am.  Tickets for boys second round games will go on sale on Wednesday, March 2, at 7:00am.  Tickets for girls second round games will go on sale on Thursday, March 3, at 7:00am.  No cash tickets will be sold onsite at championship events and all tickets for the first, second, and quarterfinal rounds must be purchased through GoFan.  DIAA has created a resource page (click here to visit) to assist with answering frequently asked questions and other troubleshooting issues about digital ticketing fans may have.  Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time.  Tickets for the semifinals and finals which will be held at the University of Delaware, can be purchased through the University’s digital ticket vendor.  More ticket information for the semifinals and finals will be released later next week.

*Spectators interested in attending any championship events at the University of Delaware should be aware of the University’s basketball spectator event policies which are listed in their entirety here. *Proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test is required for all persons purchasing DIAA championship event tickets. 

Live Streaming

NFHSNetwork is the official partner of the DIAA State Championship and will select certain games to stream live.  Broadcast fees apply except for livestreams by school-owned websites or school controlled webpages.

Media

Media with an approved and issued DIAA 2021-2022 credential will be permitted entry to tournament events.  Media should contact DIAA in advance to request live broadcast at any event. DIAA will notify member schools when requests have been approved.
