Nomination Statement

“Son of Xiquan Shi and Guofeng Shang, Victor Shi is currently ranked 2 in his graduating class with a 4.503 GPA at the end of his junior year. He earned the title of National AP Scholar by achieving scores of 5 across almost every AP exam he has taken. Victor co-founded The STEM Organization of American (TSOA). Victor has leadership positions in Student Government, HOSA, Math League, and Science Olympiad. He is an active member of the National Honor Society and volunteers within his local community at Our Daily Bread. Victor plans to attend a four-year university majoring in biology.”

“Ever since I could remember, my parents have always barraged me with their story, their background. They were immigrants from China, growing up in very poor conditions with little to eat, little to learn, little to enjoy. Though, admittedly, those stories can get repetitive at times, I have implemented their lessons they have gathered from their past into my own life, working hard and wanting to provide for my parents as much as they have done for me already.”
