Justin Xu

Charter School of Wilmington

Nomination Statement

“Many experiences have contributed to Justin Xu becoming a responsible, caring and humble young man. His experiences with Model United Nations, Youth in Government and his Delaware Superior Court internship allowed him to expand his view of his role in society. His research path is significant with him being published in the Journal of Applied Physics and named a Finalist in the Regeneron Science Talent Search. Sharing his passions with others led to him making life-saving contributions. Justin used 3D printers to make hundreds of approved face shields. He contacted and donated PPE to hospitals, nursing homes, and other communities.”

“At the Charter School of Wilmington, I lead 3D Printing Club and Entrepreneurship Club and co-lead Model United Nations. I represented Delaware at the United States Senate Youth Program. Deeply passionate about scientific research, I am a published author and was a Regeneron Science Talent Search Finalist. I enjoy swimming, volunteering, 3D printing, and playing viola in the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra and Delaware All-State Orchestra. I plan to pursue a career involving science and public service.”
