As part of the national Purple Star Schools program, Delaware’s Purple Star Distinguished School designation is given to K-12 public schools that demonstrate military-friendly practices and address the unique educational and social-emotional needs of military-connected children and their families. Purple Star Schools support military-connected children who move an average of six to nine times from kindergarten to high school, regularly leaving friends and support systems. Additionally, these schools are sensitive to the challenges families face whenever family members are called away from home on deployment.
