Nomination Statement
The daughter of Zakir Hossain and Sanjida Sultana, Zakia is enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. She is inquiring, open-minded and likes to be intellectually challenged. Zakia is dedicated to her academics and being an active member of the student body. She was inducted into the National Honor Society and participates in Yearbook Club, Math League and Blue Gold. Her true passion is helping others who are unable to help themselves and participates in several humanitarian causes. Zakia is planning on attending a four-year university and wants to study international law.

First, my parents, who instilled in me the value of faith, honesty, and perseverance; Mount faculty members who have nurtured my genuine curiosity; and my Bangladeshi community, who motivate me to act in a manner that fosters greater change and humanity. I owe all my accomplishments, present and future, to my community and will strive to inspire others in such a manner.”
