Nomination Statement

Lun Kong is an industrious student and currently ranked first in his class with a 4.5 cumulative GPA. He medaled in Math League and Science Olympiad, placing 22nd overall in Nationals in meteorology. He was nominated for the Governor's School of Excellence and received the AP Scholars Award with Distinction. In addition, he was awarded Underclassmen Male Athlete Sportsmanship of the Year and Widener University Leadership Award. Kong is very involved in school, holding positions as president of the Student Council and vice president of the National Honor Society. He plans to major in either meteorology or mathematics or both.

After moving to America though, my greatest influence to my current success came from my teachers. Their pushes and encouragements allowed me to reach new potentials and also gave me the intrinsic motivation to do so.”
