Nomination Statement
Layna Reynolds, daughter of Holly and Dallas Reynolds of Greenwood, is an accomplished athlete, actively involved in the school community and passionate about becoming a future educator. Layna is a varsity captain of the field hockey and soccer teams and was named a Scholar Athlete, an MVP, and chosen for Academic All-Conference teams. Layna volunteers with the Interact Club and National Honor Society, and serves as a class senator and executive board historian in student government. Academically, Layna relentlessly challenges herself with the most rigorous classes. Layna plans to pursue a degree in elementary education at Delaware Tech.
“Ever since I was little, I have had a competitive spirit which has pushed me to be my best, both academically and athletically. I constantly push myself and my teammates to the limits so that we are the strongest we can be. Yet, I am still always their biggest cheerleader and pride myself in lifting people up. As a future elementary school teacher, I hope to instill the same sense of drive in my students and always encourage them.”
