Nomination Statement
Daughter of Chad and Kerry Topper of Selbyville, Carley is a conscientious and ambitious student who goes above and beyond in and out of the classroom to be successful. She is ranked second in her class and has a grade point average of 4.52. Carley is a well-rounded student who is involved in several clubs, organizations and sports teams, which include the Leo Club, the Student Council, the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is also a member of the girls’ soccer team. Carley plans to attend North Carolina State University and major in animal science.

As someone with a physical difference, I’ve become motivated to inspire others to follow their dreams despite obstacles. Our struggles shape us into who we are and only make us stronger. I’ve been lucky enough to have a large support system in my life, including my parents, church community, teammates, and friends. By believing in me, all of these people have inspired me to be successful.”
