Professional Licensee Certification

This page is specifically for Professional Licensees who plan to work in the Delaware public school system. In addition to meeting any requirements as set forth by the hiring education authority, the following individuals are required to meet and hold a license from the Delaware Division of Professional Regulations in order to work in Delaware.

  • Speech pathologists
  • Audiologists
  • Occupational Therapists

These professional licensees are not required to hold an education license or certification through the Department of Education.

Professional Licensees are not required to register in DEEDS. However, registration in DEEDS is required to process national certification stipend requests. Licensees should visit the National Certification and Stipends page for more information.

School Nurses are also required to hold a valid and current license from the Delaware Division of Professional Regulations. In addition, School Nurses must hold an education license and certification through the Department of Education. Additional information can be found in on the School Nurse Certification page.

Professional Licensee Documentation Requirements

The following items must be provided to your Delaware public or charter school Human Resource office:

  • A copy of your current Delaware professional license.
  • A copy of your current National Board Certificate.
