Nomination Statement
Sadie is an astutely catalytic sociologist-in-action: a U.S. Senate Youth representative for Delaware, National Honor Society president, and field hockey captain who studies human behavior and applies those insights toward community activation. Her independent research on the psychological mechanisms driving consumer boycott support in digital spaces features graduate-level methodology, while her civic instincts have produced tangible results: she secured funding and created art-based mental wellness workshops at Sean's House in Newark. Sadie also stars in musicals, earned first-chair alto saxophone in NCS bands, and founded the school's jazz band. Sadie will study sociology at Harvard University or the University of Pennsylvania.
“The love I have for the people in my community motivates everything I do. I am incredibly grateful for my teachers, family, and friends, who provided endless support for my passions and ambitions. Their confidence in my abilities enabled me to become the person I am today. I strive to be a better teammate, student, and leader, carrying on their legacy and empowering those around me.”
