Nomination Statement
Katya Geyer, the daughter of Olga Bakhar, is a leader in academic research, athletics, and community service. Katya earned first place awards at the Sussex County Science Fair and advanced in regional competition, was named a Summer Science Program International Chambers Scholar for her antibiotic resistance research, and is an Advanced Placement Scholar with over 300 volunteer hours supporting peer tutoring, environmental efforts, and service organizations. She competes as a state champion athlete and is a member of the Science National Honor Society. Katya plans to pursue college studies focused on regenerative science, aiming for a career in neuroscience or immunology.
