Nomination Statement
Hope Smith, daughter of Joy and Rob Smith of Newark, is a senior in the dental assisting program. She is ranked top in her class with a 4.24 cumulative GPA. Hope is very active in the school community playing both varsity soccer and basketball, where she is also the team captain. Hope’s future plans include attending the University of Delaware to major in biology with the end goal of becoming a dentist.
“Throughout my life, my parents have been my biggest motivation and support system. Their constant encouragement has shaped who I am and pushed me to work hard to make them proud. When I struggle with confidence, especially after a bad performance in sports, they remind me to believe in myself and keep trying. Because of them, I have learned that persistence, determination, and a positive mindset are keys to success.”
