Nomination Statement
Dhivya is the daughter of Nachammai Ramasamy and Gynanasabai Muthupalaniappan. She has been a member of the MOT cross country team for three years and has qualified for states during this time. Additionally, Dhivya is involved in numerous extracurriculars, including working at Kumon, teaching English to children in her village in India, and volunteering at the food bank, among other organizations. She is also the founder and president of the MOT's Body Blueprint Society club, which facilitates animal dissections. In the past, her Alzheimer's research was published in an academic journal, and Dhivya aspires to become a pediatrician in the future.
“I'm deeply thankful for my parents' support and sacrifices, which allow me to be here today. Additionally, my teachers--Ms. Boucher and Dr. Piser--have profoundly impacted me, inspiring my dream of becoming a physician at a teaching hospital. I am sincerely grateful to them, as well as Ms. Scali, my counselor, for her continued guidance, and Ms. Ziolkowski, Ms. Varga, and Ms. Noll for their never-ending support and encouragement. This wouldn't have been possible without my family and school community's support.”
