Nomination Statement
Abigail Willey is the daughter of Katie Baker and Adam Willey. Abigail challenges herself at Delmar High School each and every day as she takes dual enrollment classes along with her Academic Challenge classes at Delaware Tech. Currently, Abigail has earned a 4.88 GPA. Abigail has been an active member of the art club and FFA during her time at Delmar. In the future, Abigail plans to study in the medical field and pursue a career in pharmaceuticals while attending a local college.
“When I was very young, I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome due to my poor ability to regulate my emotions. I constantly felt overwhelmed, both in public and at home. However, where I struggled to control how I felt or how I reacted, I was skilled at logic and reasoning. Learning and school-life became a comfort to me for how formulaic and structured it was. Since kindergarten, education has continued to help me become a more understanding and well-rounded person.”
