Nomination Statement
Daughter of Jeff and Kelli Hewes, Kayla Hewes is an extraordinary student-athlete at William Penn High School. She is ranked 3rd in her graduating class with a 4.31 cumulative grade point average. Kayla is skilled at balancing her challenging academic demands with the other passions of her life. She is not only an active member of William Penn's National Honor Society but is also a three sport Varsity athlete. She has achieved First and Second All Conference and Academic All Conference recognition for multiple sports. Kayla is planning to attend the University of Delaware for secondary earth science education.

With both parents as educators, the expectation has always existed to reach further than you think possible and approach every challenge with curiosity and determination. This philosophy has served me well in both academics and life. Challenges have come along and I have been able to overcome them to achieve success. I am grateful to have a loving family and solid foundation of support.”
