Nomination Statement
The daughter of Javier Reyes and Monica Garcia, Arely Reyes will graduate in June as the valedictorian of Conrad's class of 2025 with a 5.24 GPA. Arely has also been selected for some outstanding programs during her high school career, highlighted by the Carleton Liberal Arts Experience (CLAE), the New Castle County Youth Philanthropy Board for the second year, the NSLI-Y Fall Virtual Program to learn Russian and the 2024 Cash for Class competition for Conrad Green Club. Next year Arely will attend Amherst University with a yet to be determined major.
“I believe it's important to be open to the points of view and experiences of others to become a person capable of helping others in the way they need. My teachers and mentors have inspired my interest in learning from others to become someone empathic and well-rounded. My experience in education has taught me the importance of continuing to learn more than what is taught and said to expand my understanding of the complexities that exist.”
