Nomination Statement
Mia Lu is a genuine and kind soul. A hardworking student, Mia works seamlessly with anyone: peers, faculty and staff, and anyone she encounters. She has and genuine appreciation for learning and she shares that passion with younger students who want to learn more about STEM. Mia has been an active and passionate member of the CSW community over the years; she is currently the captain of girls' varsity tennis, writes for the school newspaper, and is an avid volunteer. Mia plans to study physics next year and is deciding which school community will be her home for undergraduate studies.
“Throughout high school, I have been involved in various activities including being a captain of varsity girls tennis, contributing to my school newspaper, and leading the math club. While I am primarily interested in science and math, I have realized the value of participating in a diverse array of activities. I have learned to apply myself in different types of situations, and I have also formed lasting bonds with the people I’ve met through these activities.”
