Nomination Statement
Among all of the 2,996 students enrolled at Newark Charter (K-12), Lila Seiler inspires the most wide-ranging confidence from educators due to curricular mastery, consistency of leadership across several domains, and intangible traits of toughness, accountability, and gregariousness. She is the No. 1 all-around leader in the senior class. Lila—a transformational National Honor Society president and two-sport captain in volleyball and lacrosse—earned the AP Capstone Diploma before her senior year began. She is an AP Scholar with Distinction, and her intricate biomechanics research was lauded by the College Board's AP Research reviewers. Lila is deciding between several college opportunities.
