Nomination Statement
Daughter of Dennis and Stephanie Skinner of Middletown, Alexis is a member of the National Honor Society, school and club volleyball, Best Buddies Club and Bunker Hill Elementary school mentor program. Alexis has held leadership positions in Best Buddies and AHS volleyball. Alexis is ranked at the top of her graduating class with a 4.581 cumulative GPA and has received the AP Scholar with Distinction award. In the fall, Alexis plans to attend Florida State University and major in mathematics.
“Throughout my time at Appoquinimink High School, I have had the privilege to learn alongside many highly driven and intelligent individuals. Their ambitions to learn and grow despite adversities have inspired me to not only grow with them but also to strive for excellence because of them. As well, I give thanks to the teachers and guidance staff that have allowed me to pursue my highest potential and mature into a well-rounded individual.”
