Nomination Statement
Delaney Porter is in her senior year at Smyrna High School, concluding her four years as an Eagle. During her time at Smyrna High, she has excelled in the classroom while also keeping a high respect for extracurricular involvement. Delaney spent four years on the field hockey team and two years on the lacrosse team. She also got involved through clubs such as Blue and Gold Club, Letterman’s Club, Student Athlete Leadership Team, National Honor Society, and HOSA. She will continue to further her academic and athletic career at the University of Lynchburg.

Although occasional failures can be fundamental in the growing process, success as a result of hard work provides unmatched fulfillment. When I am truly passionate about something, I want to achieve nothing short of the best. I want to feel I have given maximum effort to the endeavor. I never want to feel like I could’ve worked harder or done more.”
