Nomination Statement
Charlotte Walder embodies the mission of Odyssey Charter School through her enthusiasm for learning, passion for helping and advocating for others. Charlotte has been at the top of her class for the last four years and is the president of Student Council. In addition, Charlotte was the vice president of Business Professionals of America, founder of the Health Occupation Students of America, a founding member of High School Democrats of America, and an active member of the National Honors Society. Charlotte plans to attend the University of Delaware in the fall to pursue a career in the rehabilitation psychology field.
“As a disabled student, my perspective of the world looks quite different than those of my peers’. The hardships I’ve endured fighting against the inaccessibility of today’s society has shown me the unique opportunity I have to make a difference in the world; and I plan to take full advantage of that. With my accomplishments and insight, I will only grow stronger throughout my life and continue to empower other disabled individuals such as myself as a rehabilitation psychologist. ”
