Arriana Bisram

William Penn High School

Nomination Statement

“Through my years of academic perseverance, I have gained various awards and recognitions. School awards vary based on subject and club, from Scientific achievement in my Biology & Chemistry classes and also my Integrated Mathematics classes. These awards were earned during my first three years of high school and have been accompanied by an unbroken streak of Distinguished or regular Honor Rolls. Over the years I have accumulated a weighted GPA of 4.2 and I hope to pursue Material Science and Engineering during college at the University of Delaware.”

“A large influence that has pushed me to continue in my education is my grandmother. Born into a small Guyanese village in 1927, she did not have the chance to receive a quality education and had the goal of going to Europe to study before being married off. Her failure to pursue this goal still haunts her today, and from the time I entered Colonial, she would tell me the story and push me to earn the best education possible.”
