This delay may not be the result of a significant visual or hearing impairment.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/page\/3141\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Emotional Disability\" src=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2024\/05\/emotional.jpg\" alt=\"Emotional Disability\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/page\/3141\"> Emotional Disability <\/a><\/strong> Emotional disability is characterized by (a) an inability to learn that cannot be explained by intellectual, sensory, or health factors; (b) an inability to build or maintain satisfactory interpersonal relationships with peers and teachers; or (c) a tendency to develop physical symptoms or fears associated with personal or school problems.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/page\/3164\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Hearing Impairment\" src=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2024\/05\/hearing-impairment.jpg\" alt=\"Hearing Impairment\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/page\/3164\"> Hearing Impairment <\/a><\/strong> Hearing impairment is an impairment in hearing, whether permanent or fluctuating, that adversely affects a child&#8217;s educational performance but that is not included under the definition of deafness in the state statute.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/page\/3142\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Intellectual Disability\" src=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2024\/05\/fragile_x_syndrome.jpg\" alt=\"Intellectual Disability\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/page\/3142\"> Intellectual Disability <\/a><\/strong> Intellectual Disability is characterized by significantly sub average general intellectual functioning, existing concurrently with deficits in adaptive behavior and manifested during the developmental period that adversely affects a child&#8217;s educational performance.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/page\/3146\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Learning Disability\" src=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2024\/05\/learning-disability-square.jpg\" alt=\"Learning Disability\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/page\/3146\"> Learning Disability <\/a><\/strong> Learning disability is defined as a disorder in one or more of the basic psychological processes involved in understanding or in using language, spoken or written, that may manifest itself in the imperfect ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell, or to do mathematical calculations, including conditions such as perceptual disabilities, brain injury, minimal brain dysfunction, dyslexia, and developmental aphasia.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/page\/3144\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Orthopedic Impairment\" src=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2024\/05\/kid_in_wheel_chair.jpg\" alt=\"Orthopedic Impairment\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<td><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/education.delaware.gov\/legacy\/page\/3144\"> Orthopedic Impairment <\/a><\/strong> Orthopedic impairment is defined as a severe orthopedic impairment that adversely affects a child&#8217;s educational performance.
