Service Overview
The Institute for Learning provides high-quality, curriculum-based professional learning approved by the Delaware Department of Education. We specialize in empowering educators to deliver student-centered, talk-based instruction that fosters high achievement. Our services include robust professional development sessions grounded in the Principles of Learning – e.g., Socializing Intelligence and Accountable Talk – ensuring deep understanding of content and pedagogy. We offer ongoing implementation support for teachers through Content-Focused Coaching and continuous improvement cycles. This sustained partnership helps educators refine practices, integrate high-quality instructional materials, and achieve equitable outcomes for every student.
Building District Capacity
We build district capacity through deep collaboration with district leaders, building leaders, and teachers. Our approach centers on the instructional core, growing content knowledge and leadership skills. We leverage our research-based Principles of Learning, Content-Focused Coaching, and Continuous Improvement cycles (PDSA). This holistic strategy empowers all stakeholders to implement and sustain high-level, talk-based instruction, ensuring equitable outcomes and high achievement for every student.
Addressing Equity
The Institute for Learning addresses equity by challenging assumptions of innate aptitude, affirming all students are capable of high achievement. Our high-quality, curriculum-based professional learning empowers educators to provide every student with opportunities for cognitively demanding tasks and learner-centered, talk-based instruction. We equip teachers and leaders with research-based practices, Content-Focused Coaching, and Continuous Improvement cycles, building equitable, sustainable change. This approach ensures rigorous, accessible learning experiences that cultivate deep engagement and foster high achievement for all learners, especially those traditionally underserved.
