Service Overview
Imagine Learning provides a range of professional learning and consultation services to support comprehensive mathematics improvement initiatives across the state.
Professional learning workshops align with leading industry standards for professional learning and adult learning theory. The design of professional learning draws on extensive research into how people learn and the latest findings in the science of learning. This approach explores how individuals process new learning, understand new content, and learn through application and inquiry. A high-quality, evidence-based curriculum, supportive resources for teachers, and high-quality professional learning can significantly enhance teacher practice and positively impact student achievement.
Building District Capacity
IL HQPL equips teachers and leaders with both the instructional and logistical support they need. The HQPL is comprehensive by design and includes activities to develop a vision for implementation; establish understanding of the HQMI’s design and approaches; provide practice to internalize strategies, routines and lessons; and ensure logistical considerations are met.
Implementation begins with consultation between the PL team and district and school leaders to shape a vision for implementation and craft a customized PL plan. IL’s PL team collaborates with leaders to articulate connections between their vision and the curriculum, which are then incorporated into long-term PL plans.
Addressing Equity
Imagine Learning is deeply committed to equity and embedding culturally and linguistically sustaining practices into its HQPL programs. IL’s PL team has extensive experience working with varied audiences and local contexts. Workshops use accessible materials and activities aligned with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, including accommodations for disabilities and hands-on, collaborative learning that incorporates participant input.
HQPL utilizes materials that reflect diverse cultures and ethnicities while being free from bias across categories. Sessions articulate a flexible approach to planning, guiding educators in adapting HQIM to meet diverse student needs and honor cultural and linguistic identities.
