About our organization

Teaching Lab aims to shift the paradigm of teacher professional learning (PL) for educational equity. They provide curriculum-based PL using their evidence-based model, coined Head, Heart, Habits, and Equity. Teaching Lab partners with schools and systems to adopt high-quality curriculum, develop sustainable systems of support for teachers and leaders, deliver introductory PL to teachers and also deliver ongoing PL through Cycles of Inquiry. PL emphasizes supporting diverse learners, learning acceleration, COVID recovery, and cultural-responsiveness.

Service description

Teaching Lab provides introductory teacher PL on how to use HQIM, coined “Bootcamps.” Bootcamps lead into Cycles of Inquiry, which include: studying HQIM, delivering instruction, and analyzing student work to accelerate teacher and student learning. PL is job-embedded and engages educators in lesson experientials that develop high-leverage and culturally-responsive practices.

Teaching Lab’s Early Literacy “Bootcamp” deepens educator content knowledge of literacy development grounded in the science of reading and Foundational Skills, supports educators in implementing HQIM with a systematic phonics approach, and develops educator practices by reading research, engaging in lesson study and experientials, and practicing instruction embedded in HQIM.
