DIAA Spring Sports Season Remains Suspended<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In response to Governor Carney\u2019s announcement today that school buildings will remain closed for the remainder of the school year, Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) spring sports season continues suspended with no athletic activities.\u00a0 DIAA Board of Directors and staff will use the upcoming months to continuing assessing the impact COVID-19 has to spring sports, summer activities and the 2020-2021 sport seasons.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Today\u2019s decision falls on the same day that DIAA member schools will recognize students and student-athletes throughout the state by paying tribute and honoring students and student-athletes by lighting their stadiums at 8pm tonight for 20 minutes and 20 seconds.\u00a0 This will definitely be a memorable moments for so many especially senior student-athletes.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

We ask the community to continue being a support to our students and student-athletes as they manage emotions with the loss of sports, proms, and other special events.\u00a0 We empathize with all students, student-athletes, schools and communities during this time.\u00a0 The Class of 2020 will not be forgotten.<\/span><\/p>\n
